I know this has been discussed numerous times, but has anyone actually done it? From what I know, to fix it up you have to actually sand the vinyle and fix up the color, am I right? Considering that my PM Lissie has shine spots on her face and Im no good at this, I never plan on attempting it myself. All the same, she has MANY of these, they almost look like freckles and I would love to fix them and retore her to near brand new condition. Other than these spots and hair thats a little frizzy at the ends, shes in perfect condition. Has anyone before actually fixed shine spots on the face and have any advice or even pictures? If you dont want to post, feel free to pm' me. I just want to give Lissie a fixed up, shine free face

Someone (I think maybe Greymyst) says that the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers does it. You need to use it somewhat gently, just a little at a time, rinsing frequently until the shine is gone. You can find this on the cleaning products aisle in most grocery stores. Good luck!

Thanks I will definetly give it a shot. Theres no way I could screw it up and ruin her, is there? You see, Im very clumsy at these sort of things. One thing I was curious about though, I thought the shine spots came from being hit and rubbing off some of the finished coat that was on their vinyl, not from actual dirt. Because if that was true, I wouldnt think the magic easer would work. But then again, I really dont know what Im talking about

I used baking soda on a damp washcloth and gently scrubbed staying away from the eyes... my Josefina had a rub mark on the end of her nose from the box she was stored in.... it took awhile but I got it out.. now I have some marks on Lissie's forehead that I need to get out which will take some work...

I LOVE the MR. Cleean Magic Eraser for any clean up task at home but found that they are very good when cleaning up old shiny and dirty AG dolls. I could just see a layer of dirt come off! And now the vinyl on Molly, AGT, and my newly added Samantha look great! It is just nice to feel the cleanliness after using the sponge--and yes, you don;t even need to use very much pressure. Just gently wipe and massage. Ash.
